OBJECTIVE
The Dolf Henkes Foundation has made it its objective to further the overall public awareness of the Rotterdam artist Dolf Henkes (1903-1989). To that effect, the foundation has launched an initiative to grant a biennial award to an artist who chimes in with the profile that was outlined by its namesake, the artist Dolf Henkes; young, idiosyncratic and fostering a special bond with Rotterdam and/or the Netherlands Antilles. In addition, the foundation has published a monograph about Dolf Henkes while also organizing exhibitions of his works.1978
